2026 Northshore Little League - Challenger

Our Challenger Division is a program for special needs children and adults and is $35 for them and their families.

The Little League Challenger Division® is an adaptive baseball program designed for individuals with physical and intellectual challenges. Here are the key aspects:

Founded: 1989.
Eligibility: Any individual with a physical or intellectual challenge may participate. The division accommodates players aged 4 to 18, or up to age 22 if still enrolled in school. The Senior League Challenger Division is for players aged 15 and above, with no maximum age limit.
Focus: The program allows participants to enjoy the full benefits of Little League participation in an environment structured to their abilities. It emphasizes the therapeutic and socialization benefits of sports, self-esteem building, and the values of teamwork, sportsmanship, and fair play.
Game Structure: Flexibility and adaptability are key. Games typically last about an hour and are 1-2 innings long. All players bat and play defensively each inning. “Buddies” assist Challenger athletes as needed, helping with batting, base running, and defense.
Field: Games can be played on traditional or synthetic baseball or softball fields.

The Challenger Division provides a supportive and inclusive environment where all children can experience the joy of playing baseball.
