Would you love to have the best seat in the
ballpark? How about getting to know the kids in your Little
League who play our nation's great pastime? Would it make
your day to leave the field knowing you've had a hand in
enabling two dozen youngsters to play the most American
of all sports, baseball? Then being a Little League umpire
is for you!!!
Being an umpire is fun, rewarding and not
as hard as you think. There is a number of ways that you
can get umpire training and get involved in providing a
much needed service to your kids and the community!
You don't have to have umpire training to
volunteer and help. But training is available and encouraged
so that you have the skills to provide a quality experience
for everyone involved.
Here are
the ways you can get umpire training:
The Girl's Fastpitch Interleague provides
free umpire training those interested specifically
in softball.

Northwest Baseball Umpires Association (NBUA) offers
extensive training and support for those who are looking
to umpire players 13 years old and up. However, this
is also great training even for those who want to
umpire younger players. This training typically begins
in January so you must sign up early. For more on
NBUA training, class dates/times and signup information
please visit the Northwest
Baseball Umpires Association website. Umpires
who are members of NBUA can be paid for games they
umpire in the Boys Senior Hardball Divisions (but
you do not have to be a NBUA member to umpire at the
Senior Division). |
All Northshore Little League umpires volunteer their time
because they love the game of baseball and want to share
it with the youth of your community. If you feel the same
way please consider joining us and helping to umpire some
baseball games.
If you need more information or just want to volunteer
to umpire then please contact our Umpire In Chief.
