WHAT: A Base-A-Thon Fundraiser

WHEN: March 20, 2010

WHERE: At the Northshore Little League Jamboree – Northshore Athletic Fields

WHO: All players who do not pay a $50 buyout fee at the time of registration.*

2010 SCHEDULE:

• Feb 22-26 - Managers’ team meetings, secure and turn in 4 parent volunteers to Mike Barry. Let them know Fundraising Lead meeting is Tues, March 2.
• Feb 27 - Announcement to Fundraising Leads for Leads Meeting
• March 2 - Fundraising Lead meeting -- 7-8 p.m., Wayne Barringer’s home (1926 242nd St. SE, Bothell)
• March 17 - ledge forms due from players to team’s Fundraising Leads
• March 20 - Day of Event, pledge forms and “Hard Money” collected at Event
• March 24 - Collection Night: All money turned over to Northshore Little League
• April 1 - PRIZE NIGHT!! - 7:00 p.m. Bothell Knights of Columbus, 24323 Bothell-Everett Hwy, Bothell, WA Directions

HOW IT WORKS:

1) Collect Pledges: Players will collect pledges and donations from friends and family. Each player should try to collect at least $50.

2) Run Bases: At the Jamboree, players will run as many bases as possible, with each base passed being recorded.

3) Collect Money: After the Base-A-Thon, players will report back to friends and family about how many bases they passed and collect their pledged money.

4) Turn in Money: On a to be determined date, players will turn in all donations.

5) Prizes: The top pledge earners will get to choose from some great prizes including game systems, mp3 players, and baseball gear. See the list of prizes!

WHY: Registration fees and sponsorships do not cover all costs necessary to run the league. Northshore Little League is a 100% volunteer organization that strives to provide an excellent baseball experience while keeping registration fees affordable for as many families as possible. 

*Buy Out:  Parents may choose to have their player(s) not participate in the Base-A-Thon by paying a buy-out fee of $50 at the time of registration.  A player who buys-out may still choose to compete for the great prizes by participating in the fundraiser.  Buy out fee will be credited to those totals.

HELP: Help make the Base-A-Thon successful by

• Donating great prizes that will help motivate and make this event fun for the kids.
• Helping to organize and collect prizes between now and the Jamboree date.
• Helping run the event.
